Creativity in children is important; it encourages free expression, problem-solving skills and open thinking. Creativity needs to be nurtured but not controlled
for children to thrive. Here are some tips to nurture creativity in your children. No matter what avenue you choose, remember to let your child take charge and be in control of his or her creativity.
* Encourage imaginary play; it fosters physical, mental, and social development.
* Opt for toys such as blocks, empty boxes and empty containers, which wont limit the way children are allowed to play.
* Provide children with the materials, but inspire open-ended art projects.
* Foster creative movement with or without music and encourage them to make their own music.
* Reading sends imaginations into overdrive and encourages children to think openly.
