The New Year is a perfect time to make changes in our attitudes to better our lives and the lives of our children. Each new day presents exciting challenges and the opportunity to start fresh.
Joseph Priestly said it best: “I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere…”
Every day we need to remind our children how special they are and encourage them to make a difference while following their dreams. It’s important that we give’ our children the confidence and courage to achieve great things and accomplish anything they set their minds to.
One idea is to start a journal noting positive actions and good deeds. Keep it simple, like “I held the door for a friend today” or “I helped set the dinner table.”
These actions can build and inspire kids to do more with each day. Children, just like grownups, feel better about themselves when they can see the goodness they have accomplished.
